Narendra Modi, why am I writing about this man? He is just a Chief Minister of a State, even I'm not from. How is he relevant to us?

Till last year, I just knew him as a person who let Gujarat burn during post-Godhra riots. In every newspaper or magazine I read, I never saw anything good about this person. I used to think he won elections with the "Hindutva" mantra.

That was the time, Gujarat assembly election compaigns were going on. There was a lot of signifance for Gujarat assembly elections all over India. Whole Indian media as usual, writing whatever bad they could and actively campaigning against him. Even many of the senior BJP leaders (including Ex. CM) of the state were campaigning against him. Sonia Gandhi, went to the extent of calling him the "merchant of death."

But to the surprise of all, he WON!!. That too with a fabulous majority.

Then came media reports analyzing his victory. The article I saw in India Today, created a lot of interest about him. I started reading about this guy on Web.

He's just FANTASTIC !! View this

The unique quality that I can see in Modi is his oratory skill, the courage and the aggressiveness in his speeches reminds me of Hitler. He is the most powerful politician in recent India, who has got more charisma than his own party's Prime Ministerial Candidate Advani.

His policies and schemes are simply superb. He is a great dreamer even, who has the remarkable ability to transform his dreams into reality. His Jyothigram scheme is a miracle, it succeeded in providing 24-hour, uninterrupted, 3-phase power supply to all the villages of Gujarat in just 2 years.(Can you believe its in India!). When he announced this scheme, the leader of opposition advised him, "Modi bhai! its not at all possible" and asked him to withdraw.

He is the man, who turns Adversities into Opportunities. In 2002, Gujarat was worst affected by earthquake. He took a chance, re-oriented and re-organized government’s administrative structure. Now in Gujarat, all the offices are computerized and he's successful in giving e-governance to the state.

This master strategist, who runs his government like a CEO is corporate-friendly. The recent Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, brought 12 lakh crore investment.(which is 1.5 times annual budget of India). He brought new SEZ laws, which gave clearance to Nano in just 2 days.(Generally early clearance would take 3-6 months).

This saffron guy is very tough on terror. According to him, government should inspire people "emotionally" to participate in the movement of development.

Gujarat's economy was in adverse conditions when Modi was in power due to natural calamities. Now the state having 5% of population, 6% of geographical area contributes to 18% of GDP.

Forgetting what happened in 2002, now its time to see him as the 'Future Ambassador of India.'

I don't understand what the current government is doing after Mumbai attacks. Now the current situation is, we are WAITING for the Pakistan to respond. Do you know Indian Army is not ready for a war with Pakistan who is getting arms from US. We have no strategy at the International level. We are neither close to Russia nor America. What is our stand! we don't know. If this is the case, even Srilanka or Bangladesh can blackmail India tomorrow!!

Now what do we need is a strong courageous leader who can lead the country, not the WEAK leaders who are just nominated and controlled by some other remote, who is said to have sacrified.

To be clear, we need a man like Modi who inspires people and leads the country. He just proved what he can do in Gujarat and it's time to bring him to the Centre.

You agree or not, he would be the longest serving Prime Minister of India.

  2. To add, even a communist MUSLIM MP AP Abdullakkutty praised Modi for the development ..

Remember, it is Modi's government who chased serial blasts first when blasts occurred all over India.

  3. ya..he is definitely a great leader with a great vision. India needs a Prime Minister like him..but definitely not thru a party like BJP..just see whts happening in karnataka..if BJP comes to power, ram sene, shiv sena, RSS get free ticket to do all their 'ethnic cleansing' acts in open air, without getting scared of any laws.
and by da way, can u plz share the reference for da indian budget figure?i think it is 15 lakh crore(i remember tht our budget is 30% of our economy, and i m sure tht indian economy is arnd 52 lakh crores..so our budget shud b somewhere arnd 15 lakh crores)
n one more thing... Gujrat's economy was not in adverse conditions before Modi. But it was not as good as it is now..n the credit goes to Modi definitely. he made Gujrat as a lucrative n very attractive destination for all the Industries. atleast now India should take a definitive stand on its international policies. but abt pakistan, one thing for which India is acting diplomatically is that it is a nuclear state and the governance in pakistan is in a very fragile situation. so there is every possibility that if a war is waged against pakistan in the present situation, terrorists can get access to the highest powers and thus to the nuclear weapons...dats da last thing anyone wants..nukes in terrorist's hands..dats da only reason for which even US is not taking any sharp action da way it took in agfhanistan or Iraq.

  4. First of all, thank you so much Dileep for the fine comment ..

Regarding India's economy, it was a loose word, I should have used "budget". To be frank, I don't have an exact idea. But I was told by one of my reliable friends. I am SORRY if I am wrong. But I think I am close. Please see http://indiabudget.nic.in/ub2008-09/afs/afs1.pdf and http://indiabudget.nic.in/ub2008-09/eb/stat01.pdf

With BJP, there are a few problems I agree. The current leadership of BJP is not good. They play divisive politics I agree. What is the need to support for separate Telangana .. that is the only thing they found to get some votes in Andhra ..

But on other side, you may have heard, he challenged RSS in Gujarat once. The activities of RSS and its patners are prevalent in Karnataka but not in Gujarat even though Modi is from RSS!. After 2002, Law and Order is properly maintained in Gujarat. I don't think he will compromise on these things, when he becomes PM under BJP.

Even though, congress not doing such things directly, it's encouraging parties like MIM.

In India, Central government has got a power to dismiss any state government. And people of India won't vote BJP because of its "Hindutva" mantra, otherwise BJP would have been in power long ago.

On an International level, I completely agree with you regarding the current situation. But we had problems with Pakistan, ever since we got independence. But if the past congress governments were wise enough and had some strategies, I think we would be in a demanding position now.

Think how could Israel survive! it's because of its intelligence "Mossad." Do we have intelligence in India?

Now, as of sudden we can't do anything. But, we need to make structural changes in internal security and go with some strategy to build good relations at international level. But our EXTERNAL affairs Minister is always busy with INTERNAL affairs only (now he is acting as PM and also looking at Finance Ministry).

The party which has 100 years of history could not find leaders even to fill its Cabinet !!

Finally, think if Modi starts a party on his own, how many years it takes to come to power. Can we WAIT until that?
